If you want trouble free installation, no frozen pipes in the winter, and the best product on the market, this is the heat tape for you! When they say Easy Heat, the name Say's it all. Not only is it easy to install it is fool proof. The self regulating feature is a solid plus! I highly recommend this product to anyone wanting to rest easy when winter hits and you do not want to fool with frozen pipes.
I have been using Easy Heat's heat cable for over ten years. One of its best attributes is its ability to self regulate. It simply will not get too hot like a resistive heater will. 3 watts per foot is sufficient for most applications and the engineers at Easy Heat will help you if you're not sure. Most retailers and several other web sites sell the same product for between $3.50 and $4.50 per foot so at $1.22 it's a steal.
Arrived quickly and in good shape. I have used this to keep water lines from freezing and it all worked the first time! My lines had frozen the week before and I managed to get it installed before the next snow and it really is worth the money.
