Streamlight 75813 Stinger DS C4 LED Flashlight with AC/DC Steady Charge, Black Reviews

    1. I had seen one of these in use by a police officer:-- went to my local law enforcement supply store and found the same item -- a bit too pricey, though;-- decided to give Amazon a shot -- they beat the store price by thirty bucks;-- their reviews gave a precise idea of what the prouct was and how it could be expected to perform;-- they delivered with hyper-space speed, and the light was exactly what I hoped; incredibly bright, tough and useful. (" an elegant weapon for a more civilized age")Outstanding product at a reasonable price, delivered swiftly: what more could anyone expect?

    2. After 13yrs in Law Enforcement I have grown to trust streamlight. This Particular one however exceeded my expectations. With the focused beem along with its level of brightness I couldnt ask for more. The other feature being the strobe is a great addition to the flashlight it grants the officer in the field another defensive mechanism. The only problem I had was the wall adaptor for the charger was defective but the car charger worked perfectly. I called Amazon.com customer service and the lady I spoke with not only was extremely helpful but she found the replacement part and credited me for the cost of the part + shipping and an additional $10.00 to compensate for my troubles.

    3. For a few years, I liked cheap lights that were somewhat bright but had cheap materials and faulty switches. I had a Maglite 2D-cell - the alkaline batteries leaked and actually sealed shut! This Streamlight Stinger LED DS is an investment. It is longer and thicker than the original Stinger, as I found out when my friend offered his old belt holder. It is not compatible with old holders and I am still looking for one. The Dual Switches work independently and both are well built. There are 3 modes of brightness: Really Bright > Crazy Bright > THE SUN!. There is also a strobing effect to disorient someone or signal for help.It is meant to stay on a charger any time it's not being used. I am impressed with the quality of a single LED and the reflector inside. This is quality workmanship which I hope will last.

    4. Are you a cop or security guard who needs a light every day? Look no further. The new generation C4 LED is what flashlight LEDs were meant to be. The center beam is almost laser-like, and the surrounding "wide-spot" beam really lights up large areas quite adequately. You never need to focus or adjust anything, always perfect. Side by side with a conventional stinger or even the ultra stinger, there is no comparison. This is a much whiter, purer light, with a much more "laser-like" beam. You can't go just by lumen either, because at a "mere" 140 lumens this thing is brighter than the largest brightest bulb stinger which is supposed to be 240 lumens. It is only 8 1/2" long, very light, and can be forgotten about on a belt, yet is rugged, and won't quit working if dropped hard like a bulb light when a hot element snaps. How about 50,000+ hours of LED life? This light will be good for a decade or more, and by that time better things will be available probably. The quality of construction is evident immediately, with very precision machining, great anodizing of the aircraft alloy, and a nice rubber grip surface. Three power levels for the beam, and a blinding strobe for disorienting bad guys. This light is designed for a professional who needs a freshly charged light every day at the beginning of his or her shift, and will not let you down. It costs a bit more than the bulb stingers, but is worth every penny. Go ahead and get it with the charger kit (car and wall charging cradles), for around $120 and you will not ever regret it. Spare batteries can be had for around $12, and as I said you won't be worrying about LED replacement for many years, so forget about that. I believe it belongs on the belt of every well-equipped officer.

    5. Let's face it, The future lies in LED lights now, rather than on incandescent xenon lights. The Streamlight Stinger DS with C4 LED would be the perfect candidate to replace your old Stinger.Pros:-This is a LED LIGHT so it uses less energy, generates less heat, and thus lasts a longer time than incandescent models.-The LED module is a C4 LED, so it is much brighter than regular LEDs and it has a better "throw" than incandescent lights.-It has two switches, one below the reflector head, and the other one on the tailcap. This allows you to use it in "patrol mode" or in "tactical mode."-It is made to the same standards as the old Stingers, so you get that "solid" metal feel, except that this light comes with rubber in the middle for enhanced grip.-Anti-roll ring included-Has several output modes, thus allowing you to bargain between brightness and time the battery lasts. The flashlight also has a Strobe mode, which can be used to disorient a subject if the light is ever needed for self defense.-**This light says it is rated at 80 lumens, but with the new C4 technology, the lumen rating has escalated to about 140. This makes it slightly brighter than the Pelican 7060, and both lights have a far-reaching throw. You'll be happy with either this light or the Pelican 7060, but I'd recommend this light to those who prefer a metallic body (since 7060 is made of hard polymer plastic), and the Stinger LED DS is a few bucks less expensive, and has more accessories available to you.Cons:Not that many cons. The only bad thing is that they could have used a better reflector to get a "perfect" circle in the central beam. If you've ever had a Pelican 7060, you will know what I mean by "perfect circle." However, if you've never had a Pelican 7060, you will not even notice this tiny flaw.Overall it's a great light to use on duty, or to carry in the car, or for personal use. It's a very good investment, because you will never need to buy batteries for it.

    6. This is the best flashlight I have ever owned, it is extremely bright and very well built.
