I am very pleased with the lamp. I initially had gotten it for a lamp near my husband's recliner and it is not bright enough as a reading lamp, but very effective as a lamp within my family room to add lighting in the area. It matches my hanging lamp perfectly and adds to the decor of the room. I highly recommend this lamp as an accent lighting. I also like the foot button to turn it on. I like this lamp - but be aware it's going to cause the output from the sides to look very orange. It seems most of the light that's supposed to illuminate the room comes from the top. That doesn't do a lot of good in my application, but in a room with a ceiling it'll help a lot. In terms of light output it's a bit weak where I'm at, but I suspect much of the light is getting soaked up by the open, dark ceiling above. The switch works well, and the cable is a reasonable length.The packaging prevented the light from getting damaged, but it's also some of the worst packaging I've ever encountered. It just doesn't seem like there was much of a strategy to it. It's an odd mix of styrofoam, plastic bags, and bubble wrap.
