Who knew completely lead-free hoses were so hard to find? In effort to reduce our family's amount of lead exposure we needed new hoses to fill our swimming pool and water our organic garden. This hose is not only lead-free but TRULY kink-free. We've purchased hoses in the past claiming to be so, but this one is very heavy and sturdy. Keep in mind it's a bit heavy, but invest in an inexpensive hose-winder and it will remedy that. We have four water spouts on our property and will be buying 3 more of these hoses. Unlike most, I'm certain this will hold up for DECADES. Great product!
This hose is top-quality in every respect! The ends are as well-constructed as you can buy and don't leak. The hose itself is very durable and almost impossible to kink. And, it's nice to find a 100 foot, 3/4 inch hose at a great price!
I must have read a hundred reviews for hoses when I was deciding which one to buy for my organic farm. I decided on this one and I'm really glad I did. First of all, the water really flows out of this thing. Second, it's lead-free, which is obviously great. Third, it doesn't kink. That's a really big deal when you have 300 feet of hose (which I do now after buying two more) and you're dragging it out to the end of your field - you really don't want to have to run all the way back to de-kink it near the faucet or something. Also, it's really easy to spot in all the greenery. I've had no problem with connections or bulges like other reviewers, fortunately. One reviewer mentioned that you need muscles to haul it around. I agree with that completely. I practice advanced karate several times a week, and the first time I had to haul these things around outside my calf muscles were sore the next day. Three hundred feet of any hose would be heavy, but this one is solidly built. Anyway, I highly recommend this hose.
This is a great hose. BUT you'll have to have muscles to carry it around. It's very heavy. It delivers a lot of water and is particularly effective with the Bon-Aire Original Ultimate Hose Nozzle, which I also purchased and LOVE. Finally, a hose and nozzle that is high quality. I ordered these hoses, a 100 foot and a 75 foot on Dec. 29 of 2010. They were only used to water the horses and was always drained completely to prevent water from freezing in them. They were hooked together for all this. First let me say the Amazon shipping was excelent. The hoses were a complete waste of money. Here it is only April and already the 100 footer has an 8 inch bulge that will soon blow out and there are multiple bubbles beside that too. I have struggled with leaky connections this whole period too. The seat design for the seal is terrible... because there isn't much of a seat at all. It will cut seals about as fast as you can put them in. Kink free,,,,LOL that is a Joke! These hoses don't get kinks, they get monster kinks. It's a struggle to get the kink out once it's there and if the hose isn't laid out just perfectly or on a reel, it will kink.I wouldn't buy another one of theses hoses and I would not recommend these hoses unless I really didn't like you.
Not the most flexible hose, especially in cold weather, but:This is a great hose! It's also a great value. This hose is excellent for high water flow in any situation. A must have for low pressure situations, rain barrels, or anything else where you want water fast, due to it's large size. 3/4" hoses allow much more water flow with a minimum amount of pressure loss due to friction. In my opinion, anything less is inadequate, and a waste of your watering time. This hose seems to actually prevent kinking due to it's rigidity, which I like a lot. BEWARE: Many people would claim it's "hard to maneuver", but it's a necessary evil to REALLY prevent kinking. You'll have to deal with it and learn to love it. Other kink-free hoses prevent re-kinking in the same place, but don't actually prevent kinking. This one seems to prevent it totally (in most cases, of course). The female fittings are really heavy duty brass which swivel freely and smoothly, and the males look like semi-heavy duty zinc. Both are a unique, ergonomic design, and they feel and look like they'll last forever. The hose has reinforced striations longways which give it an octagonal shape. It does claim to be lead free and drinking water safe, although water from it tastes like hose when new. The Amazon report DOES NOT include that there is a lifetime warranty, but there IS- GREAT! You must keep the receipt and packaging and read the directions.Random Info: A friend parked my dump truck's two front tires on one of these hoses on my driveway for five days in 95+ degree weather, and after flattening it completely with tire marks included, the hose seemed to return to normal after pressurizing it for a day.
