This string is lovely strung around our arbor and through the trees. 11w bulbs don't fry your eyes and is just right to provide light for eating outside. Quality construction! We really like the affect and are going to have it hard-wired to a switch. I'd hate to try that with most of the strings of lights out there.
Based on the past reviews, I took the plunge and purchased this light string instead of going to Ikea to get the cheap holiday string lights. This light string seems durable and will hopefully last a long time. Delivery was quick and it was packaged well. We installed it for a party yesterday after receiving the Bulbrite 11w sign bulbs. Amazon should provide more recommendations for different bulbs - I had to use the past reviewers to figure out what bulbs to get to achieve what ambiance. We wanted to light out new patio without blinding which the 11w sign bulbs worked. And the clear bulbs look cool because you can see the filament.I'm happy I spent the $$ because they made a difference - in a good way.
We purchased three of these, and we are going to add more in the future. They were easy to hang, and more importantly well built. We used 9W LED outdoor lamps, so we did not load the strand up with a lot of wattage, and they work great.
It is nice to order something and have it exceed expectations. This is a well designed outdoor product complete with rubber seal on each bulb that settles in place nicely has you tighten the bulbs. I used it to light a pathway with 25 watt clear G25 bulbs. Plenty of light to walk safely. Great job!
It took a while for me to figure out a way to adequately light the deck area. With halogens and the stationary outdoor lighting, it never quite felt right. I saw a friend with some light strings over his backyard, and thought I would give it a try.In short, these lights are great. I highly recommend them. They have a rubber seal to keep water out, and with 40 watt bulbs they light my considerably sized deck evenly as if with a single light intensity across the whole thing.The only problem I had was the bulbs I bought had very "shallow" connectors, and the bulbs wouldn't turn on some of the time. I unplugged the string of lights, and pulled the bendable internal connector out a bit, and that solved that.A bit pricey if you ask me, but they work as good if not better than expected.
These commercial grade string lights are great for the deck, patio and breezeway. Obtaining the correct bulbs for it can be tricky so I recommend that Amazon and the supplier make the bulbs easier to get.
This string of lights has hung up on a rooftop deck for over a year thru 90 mph winds, torrential rain and a tough midwest winter. The strand shows no wear whatsoever. So, it is hard to think that anything would destroy it. However, if it were destroyed, I would buy another.
