This bulb was old (produced before 07, the date is printed on the bulb), and it did not have its own product box.
I ordered 4 of these because they were such a good deal. 5 months ago. I used 2 right away and they worked well. I went to replace one recently it worked well for 3 weeks then I heard a big noise and it stopped working. I inspected the bulb and noticed the long filament tube had come separated from the two points of contact that held it in place. I opened the 4th bulb after I saw third bulb and seen its just connected at one point opposed to the two it's supposed to be. And it will fail soon also. The tho that are working good are connected at both points. So bottom line I spent 300 dollars for 2 good bulbs. Seller offered to replace with some cheap 20 dollar x brite bulbs. Because it was out of his 90 day return policy. I always thought hortilux have a years warranty. Be sure to inspect your products good when you buy from seller even if you don't plan to use right away. Hopefully I can prevent someone from experiencing that pre rape feeling like I did. I still wish the seller would refund me and stand behind product. Warranty period or not if the product hasn't been used what's the big deal. Inspect it and see.
I have tried quite a few different types of bulbs in my "vegetable" garden and now after 3 rounds on the same bulbs with an excellent outcome averaging 11/2 lbs per light of quality vegetables :-}_# I have just received my second set of new bulbs. I paid $129 each the last time I bought these same exact bulbs, I was very pleased to have only paid about $75 each this time. I love Amazon Prime!
This bulb offers great results for the flowering cycle. I highly recommend! It lasts for quite a few cycles, too.
My office is under construction and in our warehouse the company was just going to throw about 100 of these HPS ballast and lamps out. I think they are trying to replace them with lighting that is more efficient. My boss said I could grab as many as I wanted so I picked one up (they are very large and heavy so I couldn't grab more than one). I was looking for something that could light up my garage while I worked on various car projects. When I first set it up and plugged it in I was impressed at the amount of light this thing produced. The bulb unfortunately burned out quickly so I purchased this one and..... WOW!!!!. I might as well be working outside (i'm not even exaggerating). Although I don't use it often (only for detailed projects such as painting and body repair) i did notice an increase in my power bill. I can't say that these will work well in a garden but they are certainly good for a garage......Keep in mind that they also get fairly warm. Since It is winter it isn't a problem but I have a feeling during the warmer temps I will need to limit it's use.
