This mower works very well, with lots of residual battery for a medium sized lawn. I like the fact you can cut the grass fairly short with easily adjustable height. It does not mulch, but the cut is nicer than with my old electric Black & Decker. It is much quieter than other electric mowers, and each time I use it many people stop and ask me about it. Although pricier than other mowers, it is very well built.
I rarely review items on Amazon unless I love something or there are few reviews. Since there are only a handful of reviews I thought I would write one up.First - we have a quarter acre lot (well just over that) and I can get either the front or back mowed in one charge (I double mow). I do not generally bag but if I do, it eats more battery (from starting and stopping). Someone mentioned not mulching - but if you double cut or keep it short and cut regularly I find it stays healthy.Second - I do not believe it using chemicals on my lawn, or watering for the most part. So the shorter grass is nice because it seeds out earlier in spring. I think the shorter lawn helps keep it looking nicer.Third - I gave this four stars because it is ultra quiet, cuts well, is light weight, can bag easily, is usable by my 13 year old daughter, is "dummy proof" and is highly efficient!Fourth - only gave it four stars because wet and tall grass burns through the battery and the width of the mower is a little narrow.Fifth - one reviewer noted it is more "european" than for the US - well the parent company is hsuqvarna (sic.) and the yards & gardens in a lot of European areas are not as massive as our suburban McMansions - so I would agree with him. Though any husqvarna repair location will work (found several in the midwest).Sixth - mowing lawns is one of the largest carbon emitters in the US - knowing that I am not destroying my hearing or the environment with this mower makes me feel better about life in general, but I can also listen to my mp3 player and mow and still hear the neighbor kids riding by me!Seventh & final - I would recommend a second battery on a larger lawn, but the reason I went with the push reel mower was so I can finish a patch if the battery dies.... which I can, but it is a PITA.Hope this helps!
I have to say I was a little skeptical paying this much for a mower. I wanted a reel mower to keep the grass cut very short. This mower does exactly what it is supposed to. Battery life is enough to mow my front & back yard with plenty to spare. The best part is it is so easy to mow I can have a beer in one hand & push the mower with the other.
Delivered ahead of schedule. Cuts well and is very quiet. Folds up small for storage.
I've just begun to use this mower, and so far it's quiet, light-weight, relatively easy to adjust and clean, and it does a good job.Since it's very simple -- essentially a push-reel mower with an attached battery -- there's not much that can go wrong. The only reason I gave it four stars rather than five had nothing to do with the mower itself. It became clear from the owner's manual and other documentation I reviewed before assembly that this mower was made for the European market. The English portion of the directions was geared towards Great Britain, and the nearest service center to U.S. customers is in Canada.Regarding the battery, the supplied charging transformer appeared to cover a wide range of voltages, so I thought it would be safe to plug in; however, I would have been more comfortable had they put in an insert stating that it was appropriate for U.S. 110V outlets. It took slightly longer to charge at first than the six hours stated, but the 25V lithium ion battery fully charged was enough to mow the front and back yards of two medium sized homes without showing any slowdown. I even went over one of the lawns twice because I needed to adjust the height of the cut. So power and battery life were excellent. The hook for the grass catcher slipped off the handle a couple of times, but that was an easy fix by bending the curve of the wire hook tighter with a pair of pliers. As long as the battery lasts, I like this mower very much. I'm a petite, out-of-shape, senior female, and I have absolutely no problem pushing this light-weight mower. I believe it would be ideal for senior citizens. The handle folds for storage, and it is easy to clean with an auto detailing brush.
