Up, Up I Go: A Growth Chart (Eric Carle) Reviews
This is a very cute growth chart and I can now track my son's height over the years. It does have a big print on top the chart : Sponsored by Stonyfield-YOBABY. Makes it look like a commercial gift. It does not really matter to me. Looks great on the wall and it comes with little arrow stickers to mark the child's height. easy to use and easy to hang on the wall.
I had read reviews that mentioned the following, but it's true: This chart starts a foot off the ground, meaning you have to measure out first before tacking up on the wall. (Or before measuring your child against it.) And while it's nice to be able to store the chart back in the "book", it does make for a less-sturdy paper that the chart is printed on. Still, I knew all these things going in and I still find this to be not saccharine like some charts are, and I like that it goes all the way up to adult size. There are stickers to place on the chart, you can mark it with your own pens, et cetera. The "book" part is really just board covers, like an elaborate folder, so all told it's not that much. But if you like Eric Carle, as I do, this is a nice thing to have to keep record of your little one's development.
This growth chart is simple to hang up and i LOVE the artwork. i used some pushpins to hang mine up and it is made with a thick cardbaord like paper. its not quite as thick as cardboard, its smoothe, and seems very sturdy. i was worried that i was purchasing something made from just regular paper but this was not the case. The colors aren't overwhelming so this can match any room and it includes stickers that have the childs various age milestones(12m, 18m, 2yr...etc) that you use to mark their height. it also comes with at least 10 blank arrows to use for whatever you choose. my son was very excited to mark his height and he loves to look at it. im going to use it for my daughter as well so its gender neutral enough to get for a boy or girl.it also comes in a book-like cover that is hardback, so it would be great as a gift.highly recommend!
The growth chart comes in a nice bound case that looks like a book. (Great to protect the chart--especially if, like us, you have to move around quite a bit while you children are young.) It includes fun facts about the heights of different animals and stickers that the child can place on the chart as he/she reaches that height. I'm a big Eric Carle fan anyway, but this growth chart is especially bright and beautifully animated and also gender neutral-- exactly what I was looking for. It's also sturdy--about the weight of card stock. I think this is something that we can use through out the years with all of our kids and I would recommend this product to anyone!
One of the best growth charts on amazon. (besides the big tree one)This is a little hard to set up, to keep on the wall flat and have it measure up correctly. You need multiple people to set this up.
We like this growth chart and my son (now 3) loves to stand up against it each day to see if he's any closer to the kangaroo (6 feet). Favorite part is that it goes tall enough to measure mom & dad so he can compare our heights.I like that this has a rivet at the top that we screwed into the wall. Other options had string and to me would be flimsy against the wall with a 3 year old rubbing against it all the time. We did add holes along to bottom to 'pin' it down there too so that the heights were accurate from bottom to top. If we didn't, it wouldn't hang 100% flat.As are all of the Eric Carle products, quite adorable and not too 'babyish' so that he can grow up with it in his room!
The "Up, Up I Go" growth chart is taller than most other growth charts out there (it goes up past 6 feet tall), which is great because my husband and I can include our heights on the chart for my sons to compare. It includes plenty of blank arrow stickers so you can include Mom, Dad, siblings, or friends, as well as ages not included on the pre-printed arrow stickers (for example, I made a "birth" sticker, so my son can see how much he's grown since he was born)! It also has the great Eric Carle artwork that takes me back to when I was a small child reading "The Very Hungry Caterpillar," as well as several animal stickers to place on the chart and notations comparing child's height with various animals. It's colorful and fun, and goes well with the animal theme in my sons' room. I highly recommend it!
