I purchased this toilet upon a recommendation from Consumer Reports. The installation was simple. I enjoy the slow-close seat and particularily interested to see if this impacts my water bill. Even if it doesn't, it is nice to know I'm saving water vs. a standard 1.6 GPF toilet.
I bought 3 of these toilets from Amazon. They would have been a good buy except for the fact that one was leaking water into the bowl, a tankful in 12 hours! None of the suggested fixes worked. I am observing another toilet which has a very slow leak, but still a leak nevertheless. The only bright note is the way Amazon responded to the problem. It replaced the defective merchandise without any hassle which left me very impressed with Amazon. My big disappointment is what seemed to be the lack of quality control with these American Standard toilets.
It will flush anything in the water. If there is tissue on the bowl, it might not flush it. There is not much swishing around the bowl. It is extremely fast, quiet, and efficient. It looks beautiful and is very comfortable. It is a great improvement over the one I had from 1985. It used so much water, but it took such a long time! It was also too tiny and low.
After a year of research about toilets, we decided to buy the American Standard 2403.128.020 Compact Cadet-3 FloWise Toilet in white. WOW! this toilet does everything it says it can do except clean itself! It's quiet, it flushes a LOT of matter (you know what I'm referring to) and is very easy to clean. Some people have had problems with the cover, which was a concern for me after reading the reviews. However, my husband and I aren't small sized people and as long as you sit gently down (Not come crashing down with all your body weight at once, which most covers probably couldn't take anyway) we've had NO issues. I have a 4y.o. son so I love that the seat and the cover are slow closing. No way to get anything caught by dropping the seat or cover when closing. We bought two to replace the horrible all-in-one system toilets we had. So now after a year, the toilet(s) still work great! We've also saved about $30 a month on our water bill which means these toilets will have paid for themselves in a few years. Excellent toilet! We reccommend highly.
I PURCHASED AS 2403.128.020 ONE PIECE TOILET BECAUSE IT USED 1.28 GPF AND WAS RIGHT FOR A SMALL BATH. FIRST I GAVE IT 4/12 STARS,GOOD FLUSH, SLEAK LOOGING ONE PIECE TOILET,BUT OVER NIGHTI COULD HEAR THE FILL VALVE COME ON WITH OUT BEING USED.SO I CHECKED THE FLAPPER ASSEMBLY I COULD SEE AIR BUBBLES AROUND THE SEAL.AFTER INSPECTING THE TANK IT HAD IMPERFECTION WITH HIGHPLACES AROUND THE OPENING SO THAT IT COULD NOT PROPERLY SEAL.SO MUCH FOR QUALITY CONTROL THEIR FOR I ONLY GIVE IT THREE STARS,BECAUSE THE PURPOSE WAS FOR WATER SAVEING.
Was a bit sceptical of these water savers but this one does the job. Simple as that.My only complaints are it's made in Mexico and it has a cheap seat.
