Paladin 4909 Network Tool Bundle with Data SureStrip, All-in-One Tool, Non-Impact 110 Punchdown Tool, 10 RJ11 and RJ45 Modular Plugs Reviews

    1. I have owned this product for more than six months and I use it every other day (mostly just the crimper and stripper). The punchdown tool is non-impact... but that isn't the main point of the kit so I wasn't concerned. The crimp tool is excellent. It works great every time and there is nothing more satisfying than crimping a fresh cable. The stripper is also a great tool! The manufacturer even put a small ruler on it!Again, I've had nothing but good experiences with Paladin network tools.

    2. The CrimperThe main tool of the set is the crimper. They have a nice sturdy feel to them and a nice look as well. With the ability to do networking and phone with 4, 6 and 8 pin jacks its grate for doing the hole house. The rachet mechanism also allows for perfect crimps every time. The StripersThey work perfect every time. They allow you to cut just enough jacket on the cable without cutting the wire to pull it off easily. makes very clean cuts and strips. They have rules on the side and are adjustable to allow different cable size. The Punchdown toolThis is the only failed part of the set. It is non impact so it could get annoying to your arm after a few punches and the first time I went to use it only 2 of the 8 wires where cut. Still its nice to have in the set if your only going to do a few or as and extra as its small. I personally got a professional tool.Who its forAny one that's looking for a good price on data/networking tools for a small job or an average user that need a good set. There are more expensive tools out there but these will work the same with the exception of the punchdown tool.

    3. Quick, easy-to-follow instructions, affordable, took only a few moments to fix one of or cat5 lines.

    4. These tools and connectors are high-quality and easy to use. Within hours of receiving it, I was able to:- Run 80ft of ethernet across my home, with only a 1/4 inch hole on either end.- Create several custom-length cables -- 1ft for connecting my cable modem to my router, 7ft to connect my PC without having extra cable coiled behind the computer.I haven't needed to use the punchdown tool, so I can't comment on it. But everything else is great. For making your own cable, I would recommend buying bulk Cat5e online or at your local hardware store. Home Depot and Lowes actually have pretty good prices for 100ft runs.

    5. The crimper: I have been very satisfied with this crimp tool. comfortable grip, 4 pin, 6 pin, and 8 pin plugs all in one tool without changing dies. that ratchet function is nice if you happen to for whatever reason not squeeze hard enough on the first go. even the built in shielding stripper is pretty good for one thats built into the crip tool, takes a little practice to find the right pressure so you dont nick the pairs inside. also, built in striper for silver satin cat3 works greatThe stripper: a nice add in, adjustable for whatever cables you are using (for example outdoor cabling has rather thick shielding, and sometimes multiple layers). however, i tend to only bring it out when there are lots of cables to be terminated in a row.The punchdown tool: works as expected. Personally i prefer the non-impact for 110's as usually its the backside of a walljack and the impact of some tools can be rough on the plastic if it doesnt cut the first time.Use: I have been using this professionally for about half a year, no problems, perfect crimps, very satisfied. This would also be a great tool / bundle for the weekend warrior cabling up their home.

    6. Purchased these to do data installs at clients/friends homes. They are very well made and very durable. Great value for the money spent.

    7. I love this set of crimpers. I did a lot of researching on multiple sites to determine the best solution for my needs, including tons of review-reading here on Amazon about the positives and negatives of this lines of products. These were a great price. They are durable, functional, and comfortable to use. I was going to buy a cheaper model from a different manufacturer, but decided that sometimes you really need to spend the extra money for the better quality. In this case, it paid off and I am very satisfied with the performance.
