   this is the only option i have found for tall doors, if you don't want to put holes in your doors with something more permanent. works good for me. i put 2 per door. they are sturdy in construction. only negative for these is they "bounce" on the door when on a door that is used a lot, just make sure there is a felt/rubber pad on the back so it doesn't scratch the door. it is not a big negative for me. my bigger issue is that there are not more options for tall doors. so i was happy to have even found these. i bought 20!

   Just moved into a home where all the doors are 8' tall. Our old OTD (over-the-door) hooks are far too short to use and would hang at a height of 7 feet.I scoured the internet for longer OTD hooks and this is pretty much the only one there is. If you look on some other organizing product websites, you'll see that this item has gotten great reviews, though I suspect it's because it's the only solution for tall doors that does NOT require any drilling, mounting, or adhesives.One caveat with this item is that because it hangs on a single pole (whereas traditional OTD hooks have two or three poles), it swings around a lot when you open and close the door, regardless of whether something's hanging on it. So you might have to Macgyver a couple of solutions. Either adhere some felt to the pole, so it doesn't scratch up your door...or use a 3M removable strip to stick it in place on the door.Again, if you have tall doors and don't want to drill into anything, it's about the only OTD solution.    The Over the Door 16-inch hook is of good quality, sturdy, & stylish. It works well for my 83 year old arthritic grandmother who can't reach high enough to hang up her bath robe. I only wish the product came with bumpers or door protectors since it tends to swing side to side when the robe is not in place. It was leaving little scratches on the linen closet door. I found some little clear bumpers to protect the door & hold it in place. The part that goes over the door was also a bit too loose for the closet door & had to be padded to prevent slippage. The product works as described & I like the looks of it. I should have measured our door before purchasing, but regardless I am satisfied as is my gran.
